the craft barn - alpha/dictionary challenge - letter k

k for knight

'the russell english dictionary' circa 1958

pages primed with gesso.

knight traced from internet:
http://www.cafepress.co.uk/mf/11246422/chess-knight-rectangle_sticker
and cut out.

mask cut from 'frisket' to retain white area behind knight.
with mask in place, square eraser used to stamp checks,
using 'stazon' jet black.

pages then aged using 'distress ink' vintage photo.
mask removed and knight adhered in place.

washi tape added to highlight word.

'knight' added using 'idea-ology' custom fasteners,
with the letters cut from chitchat stickers, using a hole punch.

  2. WOW is the word that springs to mind. I love the visual effect of the chess board fading out across the page. It is so dramatic.
